Buffing
Bring the gloss back on dull, scratched, or oxidized paint, done right at your location.
Mobile Detailing Expert provides professional cut and buffing to restore your paint's gloss and improve light scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and other surface imperfections. We inspect the paint first and use the right level of buffing, with additional correction or protection available when needed. We bring the equipment to your location, so there's no need to visit a shop.

The Basics
Car buffing is a paint finishing service that helps restore gloss and improve the appearance of surface imperfections. It can reduce light scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, haze, and dull paint when the damage is within the correctable surface of the paint.
The results depend on the condition of your vehicle's paint. Light defects can often be greatly improved, while deeper scratches or more serious paint damage may require paint correction instead. We inspect the finish first and recommend the level of service your paint actually needs.
We bring our professional car buffing service and equipment directly to your location, so you don't have to take your vehicle to a detailing shop.
Paint Problems
From automatic washes or wiping down dry paint
That haven't cut through the clear coat
From sun and age
Sitting on or near the surface
On paint that's lost its clarity
Our Process
Wash
Loose dirt and grime come off first, so nothing gets dragged across the paint once we start.
Decontaminate
Bonded contamination gets stripped separately, a wash alone doesn't touch it.
Inspect
We check the paint under real light to see exactly what we're working with.
Cut
A cutting compound works the affected areas to level the surface and pull out what's sitting in it.
Polish
A finishing polish follows to bring back clarity and depth, cutting alone leaves paint looking hazy.
Final Inspection
We check the finish under the same light we used going in, to confirm it's actually even.
Scratch Removal
Sometimes, it comes down to depth. A light scratch or a scuff sitting in the clear coat usually improves or disappears entirely. A scratch that's actually cut through the clear coat won't buff out, no matter how long you work it, and trying anyway just wears down paint that doesn't need to go.
We check this before we start, not after, so you know what you're actually paying for.
Which One Fits?
Both work on similar paint problems, but at different depths. Here's how to tell which one your vehicle actually needs.
| Factor | Buffing | Paint Correction |
|---|---|---|
| Light swirls | Yes | Yes |
| Light scratches | Yes | Yes |
| Light oxidation | Yes | Yes |
| Deep scratches | No | Yes |
| Heavy oxidation | No | Yes |
| Cost | Lower | Higher |
Pricing
Cost comes down to your vehicle's size and how much the paint actually needs. Light dullness and minor swirls take less work than heavier oxidation or defects across every panel.

Vehicles We Buff
We adjust the process to the vehicle, what works on automotive paint isn't automatically right for gelcoat or motorcycle bodywork.

We buff painted body panels, hoods, roofs, trunks, and other exterior painted surfaces on cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans, bringing back the gloss that daily driving and washing wear down over time. Whether it's swirl marks from an automatic wash or general dullness that's crept in, we match the compound and pad to your paint's actual condition. Check out our Car Detailing service.

We buff gelcoat, fiberglass, painted surfaces, hulls, and other suitable surfaces on boats, using products built for marine finishes, not automotive ones. Gelcoat oxidizes faster than car paint under constant sun and saltwater, so restoring its shine takes a different compound and technique than what works on a daily driver. Check out our Boat Detailing service.

We buff fiberglass, painted exterior surfaces, body panels, and other applicable areas on RVs and motorhomes, working section by section across the larger surface area. RVs spend more time parked outdoors than most vehicles, so oxidation and fading tend to build up across the whole exterior, not just a panel or two, which is why we assess the full vehicle before deciding how much work it needs. Check out our RV Detailing service.

We buff painted bodywork, fuel tanks, fairings, and other painted surfaces on motorcycles, working carefully around smaller, more detailed areas. Each surface gets handled individually rather than treated like one flat panel, since a bike's curves and edges need more careful attention than a car's body lines. Check out our Motorcycle Detailing service.

Buffing is the right fit for lighter surface defects and gloss restoration. Paint correction handles deeper, more stubborn defects that need more extensive work. See the comparison above for the full picture.
