General & mobile service
How we work, where we go, and what to expect from a mobile detail.
What is mobile detailing?
Mobile detailing is a professional vehicle cleaning and protection service that comes directly to your location — your home, office, driveway, or marina. Our vans carry their own water supply, power equipment, and all products. You don’t need to drive anywhere or provide anything. We bring the full detail shop to you.
What is mobile car detailing vs a regular car wash?
A regular car wash is a quick automated rinse — it removes loose dirt but doesn’t clean or protect surfaces properly and often leaves swirl marks. Mobile car detailing is a hands-on professional service that deep cleans every surface, uses proper techniques to protect your paint, and applies wax, sealant, or ceramic coating for lasting protection. The results and the process are not comparable.
What does a full car detail include?
A full car detail covers both interior and exterior. Exterior work typically includes hand wash, wheel and tire cleaning, door jambs, clay bar where included, polish or sealant, glass, and trim dressing. Interior work includes vacuuming, surface wipe-down, leather or fabric treatment, glass, and odor control. Higher packages add deep interior extraction, machine polish, and specialty treatments. Add-ons like ceramic coating, paint correction, and headlight restoration can be added to any package.
How long does a car detail take?
Most standard details take 2–4 hours. A basic wash and protect is on the shorter end. A full detail with interior extraction, clay bar, and machine polish takes closer to 4–6 hours. We confirm the estimated time when you book based on your vehicle type and chosen service.
Where can I get my car detailed?
We come to you. Book online or call us and a technician arrives at your home, office, parking lot, or marina. We currently service 80+ cities across multiple states. Check our locations page to confirm your area is covered.
Do you tip mobile car detailers?
Tipping is never required but always appreciated. If your technician did excellent work, a $10–$20 tip for a standard detail is a common and generous way to show appreciation. You can tip in cash at the time of service or ask about tipping through the booking platform.
What are the benefits of auto detailing my vehicle?
Regular auto detailing preserves your paint, protects interior materials, maintains resale value, and keeps your vehicle looking its best. It removes contaminants that degrade clear coat over time, prevents interior wear from dirt and UV exposure, and gives you a cleaner, healthier environment inside the car. Most owners notice a significant difference after their first professional detail.
Booking, pricing & plans
How much it costs, what affects the price, and how to schedule.
How much does a full car detail cost?
A full car detail covering both interior and exterior starts at $199 for most sedans and compact cars. Full details on SUVs, trucks, and larger vehicles start at $249 and up. Add-ons like ceramic coating, paint correction, and headlight restoration are priced separately and can be added to any package.
How much does interior car detailing cost?
Interior car detailing starts at $99 for a standard clean on a car or compact SUV. A deep clean with hot-water extraction, leather conditioning, stain treatment, and odor elimination runs $149 and up. Price varies by vehicle size and how much buildup there is. Larger vehicles like trucks, vans, and SUVs are priced higher.

Paint, interior & results
What we can improve — and what may need specialized repair.
Can you remove scratches and swirl marks from my vehicle?
We can remove or significantly improve light scratches and swirl marks in the clear coat. If a scratch can’t be felt with a fingernail it is usually removable through machine polishing. Deeper scratches that go through to primer or metal require body shop repair. We assess your paint on arrival and tell you exactly what’s achievable before we start.
Can you remove stains from carpets and upholstery?
Most stains respond well to our hot-water extraction and enzyme-based cleaners. Coffee, food, pet accidents, and general grime typically come out fully or mostly. Ink, dye transfer, and very old set-in stains may be improved but not always fully removed. We’re upfront about expectations before we begin.
How much is it to buff out a scratch?
Light clear coat scratches can often be improved through paint correction starting at $149 for a single-stage correction. Deeper scratches that go through the base coat or primer are beyond polishing — those require body shop paint repair. We’ll tell you honestly which category yours falls into before any work begins.
Who does ceramic coating near me?
We offer professional mobile ceramic coating applied on-site at your location. Our technicians properly prep the paint before application — wash, decontamination, and polish where needed — so the coating bonds correctly and lasts. Check our ceramic coating page or call us to book in your city.
Who does headlight restoration near me?
We offer mobile headlight restoration as a standalone service or add-on to any detail. We wet-sand the lens, machine polish to optical clarity, and apply UV sealant to slow future yellowing. Available in all cities we currently serve.
Starting & running a detailing business
Questions from detailers, operators, and people considering the industry.
What do I need to start a mobile detailing business?
The core equipment is a reliable vehicle, a portable pressure washer or water tank system, a generator or battery-powered tools, a wet/dry vacuum, and a starter set of detail products. You can launch lean with under $2,000 in equipment and grow from your first few jobs. Business registration, insurance, and a simple booking method round out the basics.
How do I start a mobile detailing business?
Choose your service menu, get your equipment, set your pricing, register your business, and create a way for customers to book — a phone number and a simple website or Google Business Profile is enough to start. Build your first reviews by doing excellent work for people in your area and expand city by city as demand grows.
Is mobile detailing a good business?
Yes for the right operator. Overhead is low, no shop lease is required, and hours are flexible. Repeat customers and maintenance plans create predictable revenue. Margins are strong when pricing is set correctly — typically 50–65% after supplies and vehicle costs. The main challenges are weather dependency, route efficiency, and scaling beyond a solo operation.
How much do mobile detailers make?
A solo mobile detailer doing 3–5 jobs per day can gross $600–$1,200 per day depending on the market, service mix, and pricing. After supplies and vehicle costs, net margins typically run 50–65%. A full-time solo operator in a strong market can net $60,000–$120,000 per year. Multi-van operations scale significantly higher.
How do detailers manage mobile service routes?
Most use booking and route software like Jobber, HouseCall Pro, or Square Appointments to manage scheduling, invoicing, and routing. Grouping jobs by neighborhood on the same day reduces drive time and increases jobs completed per day. Route density is one of the biggest profitability levers in mobile detailing.
How do I scale a mobile detailing business?
Once your solo schedule is consistently full, add a second technician and van. Hire, train, and document your process before expanding to a new market. Corporate accounts, fleet contracts, and marina programs generate recurring revenue that makes scaling more predictable and reduces the feast-or-famine cycle of one-off bookings.
